Katharine Cornell not only performed in dozens of Broadway shows from the 1920s to the 1960s, but she also produced and wrote them. She was awarded a Tony in 1948 for her performance of Cleopatra in Antony and Cleopatra. Florence Vandamm's portrait of Cornell appeared in the January 1932 Vanity Fair.
