Frances McLaughlin-Gill's fashion photography and celebrity portraits for vintage Glamour magazines were often shot outdoors. This whimsical scene of a neatly gloved tree hugger brings to mind a mime artist, perhaps expressing the desire to hold onto the feelings carved into the tree's trunk. This image of a model wearing fitted gloves, a stack of bangles, and a slim coat appeared in the March 1949 Glamour.
