In an age when the iPhone is quickly becoming the dominant mobile timepiece, buck the trend by sporting a classic piece of New Yorker imagery on your wrist. As The New Yorker’s first art editor, Rea Irvin (1881-1972) created a witty, urbane, and culturally aware style that continues to define the publication to this day, and illustrated 169 covers for the magazine besides. Featured on the face of this watch is Eustace Tilley, the smartly attired dandy created by Irvin for the cover of the very first New Yorker issue (February 21, 1925) and reappearing on the anniversary issue every year since. The watchband is of colorful vinyl, printed with miniature covers from the magazine’s history. Watch face is approximately 1 1/4 inches in diameter.
