Danny Shanahan tended bar at The Bitter End in Greenwich Village before becoming a full-time cartoonist in the early 1980s. His first New Yorker cartoon was published in 1988. He is an avid tennis player and lives in Rhinebeck, New York with his wife and two sons.
"Lookin' Good, Frosty!" Amid the shining stars and serene angels you lovingly add to the family tree each Christmas, there's always room for a little New Yorker- approved snark. Embrace your secret (or not-so-secret) irreverent feelings toward the holidays when you display our cartoon ornament on the highest branch. Made of elegant pewter, it'll fit in seamlessly with the rest of your tasteful trimmings - but look closer, and you'll see a miniature reproduction of Danny Shanahan's cartoon from the December 27, 1993 New Yorker, depicting a slimmed-down (melted-down?) Frosty the Snowman basking in the praise of his more rotund pals. Round ornament measures 2.5" in diameter and does not include a loop or hook for hanging.
