In an age when the iPhone is quickly becoming the dominant mobile timepiece, buck the trend by sporting a classic piece of New Yorker imagery on your wrist. Ana Juan’s paintings have appeared on posters, in children’s books, and on The New Yorker. Her covers range from witty to sobering, and often incorporate pointed references to current events, including Hurricane Katrina and the Iraq War. Juan’s cover for the March 29, 2010 New Yorker, "Homage," depicts a woman’s white head and shoulders surrounded by red butterflies. It pays tribute to fashion designer Alexander McQueen, who died on February 11, 2010, and his design for an audacious hat made entirely of butterfly cutouts. The image is beautifully reproduced on this watch face, with a butterfly pattern decorating the band. Watch face is approximately 1 1/4 inches in diameter. Watch band measures approximately 8 3/4 inches from end to end.
