A man at a cocktail party with his 'speech balloon' limp in his hand. The other guests are all chattering with their 'speech balloons' over their heads.
Tom Cheney was born in Norfolk, Virginia, grew up in northern New York, and now lives in Hawaii. He has been contributing cartoons to The New Yorker since 1978 and, in 1985, received the Scripps-Howard Outstanding Cartoonist Award for his work in magazine cartooning. Cheney's wry drawings often focus on workplace tedium and life's minor daily struggles.
